Newport Halls of Residence - How to Apply

The University has an agreement with student accommodation provider CLV

Step One - How to Apply

Applications for Newport accommodation will open on 1st March 2017.   If you have firmly accepted an offer on a full time course of study at University of South Wales starting in September 2017 we will email you a link to our online application form.  The official closing date for applications is 30th June 2017, we will accept applications after this date but any applications received after 30th June will only be processed if there are sufficient rooms available after the earlier applicants have been allocated.   Further information is available on the application form

Further Information and Pricing

Our nominations agreement with CLV provides for bronze, single-ensuite rooms priced at £96 per week based on a 42 week contract.   Utilities and internet are included in the cost.   After you have been allocated a room an administration fee of £250 is payable, this is converted to a security deposit once your lease starts.  You will get this back at the end of your agreement (provided there is no damage or rent arrears).   If paying by credit card a 2% surcharge applies.

Please refer to the accommodation options pages for costs and further information.

Newport Opal Accommodation

Step Two - Allocating you a room

Please be aware that all applications for accommodation are processed in date order and when you have confirmed your place on a course.

Please make sure that you read all of the information thoroughly and be careful to complete the application form correctly. Incorrect or incomplete application forms may jeopardise your chance of securing a room. Please ensure you do not use a school or college email address and that the email address you enter is correct.

  • Your room will be allocated once your place at University has been confirmed. Allocations will commence from late July, if you are awaiting A-level results the majority of accommodation offers will be sent on 18th August (results day) and on a daily basis thereafter. Where possible, we will take into account the preferences you have stated; however, requests cannot be guaranteed.
  • On confirmation of your place at University, you will be sent an offer of accommodation via email   by CLV. You have only 7 days in which to reply to the offer and accept it online.

Step Three – Moving In

CLV will send you information about the move-in process when you have accepted your room offer.    The check in date is 16/09/2017 and check out date is 07/07/2018.
