Alumni careers support

We look forward to welcoming you back to campus and working with you to provide continued career support.

While you’re here for Big Weekend, why not meet with one of our experienced career officers from our Career and Employability Service to clarify your career goals, plan an effective job search, or get a career 'healthcheck'. Booking is essential - please book here. Please note, places are limited so make sure you book early.

Parking, taxis and trains

Our Cardiff campus is in the city centre. There are a number of multi-storey and ground level car parks situated in the vicinity of the campus, including the two car parks (NCP Pellet Street and NCP Adam Street) which are immediately opposite the campus on Adam Street.

Car parking is readily available at our Treforest campus. The visitor's car park is located opposite the main campus. If you are approaching the University from the A470 turn left at the mini roundabout at the main campus. The postcode is CF37 1DL.

The following websites may also be useful when planning journeys around Cardiff and the South Wales region.

  • Arriva Trains Wales (nearest train station is Treforest, 5 mins walk to campus)
  • Traveline Cymru (At the Treforest Campus, bus stops are located outside the main campus on Llantwit Road, on Brook Street, and on Broadway)

Things to do in Cardiff, Newport, The Valleys and around

During your stay in South Wales you may wish to visit Cardiff, Newport, The Valleys or perhaps further afield to experience one or more of the various attractions, sights and cultural activities on offer. The following websites may be useful when planning your trip to Wales.

For local and international groups - or individuals - unable to return to campus

For graduates - individuals or groups - who are unable to return to campus in June but would still like to share in the spirit of the Weekend, we extend our 'I'm Big Weekend-ing in...' pack.

The pack is made up of a 'I'm Big Weekend-ing in...' sign and pen, plus USW pin badges for each member of the gathering/group.

Whether intimate dinner or informal social gathering, why not organise your own event wherever you find yourself. Contact David Jones, Alumni Development Officer for support with connecting with graduates from your region and to request your pack.
