Other ways to get involved

Whether you want to learn a new skill or use an existing one to help USW, there’s something for you!

Write a career profile

In just 15 minutes you can help students by sharing your university and career experiences and advice. Prospective students can visualise where their time at USW may lead them, and current students can ensure they gain the relevant experience through your advice.

Write a one-off careers news story

Students often aren’t sure what career they would like to pursue or what awaits them when they leave USW and enter the world of work. Alumni are invited to offer one-off guest blogs to give students insights into the world of work after graduation.

Requirements: We are especially looking for those who have been graduated 5 years or less to show how they made the transition into the world of work. Ideally posts are between 250 and 500 words and include a photo of the author.

Provide a job opportunity to a student or graduate

If your organisation can offer part time work, internships, placements or full time roles to our current students or graduates, we would love to advertise them for you.

Recruit student volunteers for your non-profit organisation

If you are a voluntary group, charitable organisation, statutory body, social enterprise or other not-for-profit organisation operating in or around South Wales, you can promote your volunteering projects to current students.

Organise a fundraising event

The University is a registered charity and staff, students and alumni have all volunteered to raise money for causes close to their heart, ranging from student scholarships to medical research.

International Country Contact

Help fellow alumni renew friendships and strengthen ties with the University through networking by acting as a contact for your country and helping to organise activities in your region.

Provide a venue for an event

We run a large number of professional networking and social events for our alumni both in South Wales and in London. We try to run events for little or no cost to attendees and therefore rely on the generous support of other alumni by hosting our events at their offices, clubs, etc.
