Now in their fourth year, the Awards are open to all alumni living outside of the UK who have graduated from a UK university within the last 15 years. The awards highlight the value of a UK higher education and raise the profile and reputation of alumni.
Award winners and finalists are leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contribution to their communities, professions and countries.. The Awards span three different categories: the Professional Achievement Award, Entrepreneurial Award and Social Impact Award.
In the 2016 awards, ethnomusicologist and USW alumnus Richard James Burgess was awarded the Professional Achievement Award in the USA.
I get up in the morning and I always want to learn something. I feel like it's a good day if I've learnt something, and I have to say that the three years I worked on the PhD, every day was a good day in that regard.
USW would be delighted to see international alumni nominated and shortlisted for the Alumni Awards worldwide again this year. For full details on the eligibility criteria and participating countries, please check the British Council website. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com
Applications opened on 3 July 2017 and close on 2 October 2017.
