The partners are unanimous that this project has delivered (and will continue to deliver) significant benefits over and above the original proposal.
Led by the introduction of its first Corporate Procurement Strategy the company achieved major improvements, embraced and implemented 21st century technology, led the way as a pathfinder organisation in the Welsh Public Service and developed its people.
The Business School at the University of Glamorgan and Grwp Gwalia Cyf, a housing association based in Swansea, collaborated on a unique project which delivered a ‘best in class’ strategic procurement function for the organisation.
Grwp Gwalia Cyf met these objectives via development of the organisation’s purchasing policy, implementation of a web-based integrated Strategic Procurement IT System and development of a long term purchasing strategy in a two Associate, two year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).
Tracey Healey, Group Head of Corporate Administration commented, “This KTP project is the central thread in our long term strategic plans. It is vital that we realign and streamline our procurement policy and long term strategy; the expertise that the academic partners from the University will bring to the Partnership will add to our considerable experience and knowledge in the area”.
