The University of South Wales is holding its annual Creative Industries Graduate Showcase this month – with a distinctly ‘green’ theme.

Flourish/Ffynnu 2014 will be launched at the University’s Cardiff Campus on Friday 30th May at 5pm, and will remain open to the public until Sunday 8th June. The show will feature the best work from a range of subject areas, including PhotographyFashion  , FilmMusicDrama,Technology and Animation, by students based at the Cardiff, Treforest and Newport City Campuses.

Flourish 2014 2The concept of the Graduate Showcase is to demonstrate the growth that students from the Faculty of Creative Industries experience during their time at the University.

Inga Burrows, Subject Leader for Film and Video, worked with Michelle Fitzsimmons from Edible Landscapes to devise the idea of Flourish/Ffynnu. Inga and Michelle have designed and installed plants throughout the foyer of the Atrium building in Cardiff ready for the launch of the showcase.

Michelle said: “The idea is that as students graduate, they will blossom into the world and flourish in their own right. It has been an ambitious project and is the first indoors display we have installed on such a scale.”
