Prof Sir Chris Evans gives career insight

Professor Sir Chris Evans OBE, one of the world’s leading biotechnology entrepreneurs having built over $6 billion of medical based companies from scratch, gave a lecture at the University of South Wales last night, Monday 12th May.

In his lecture, Sir Chris outlined his personal journey and experiences from Port Talbot boy to successful scientist dining with Margaret Thatcher and The Queen and advising various Prime Ministers on the vibrant biotechnology sector he helped create for Great Britain.

During his presentation, he took the audience through his good times and the bad and share lessons learnt along the way as well as highlight the emerging opportunities that make biotech such an exciting field to work in.

Sir Chris’ experience in building start-up companies from university laboratories into $billion medical businesses is second to none. He illustrated how he achieved success using his simple formula and own real life examples of biotech companies.

He gave the audience a unique insight into which new areas of work he is focusing on for the future and why; plus a glimpse of his own personal vision of how science and enterprise could shape the 21st Century.
