Launch of new Accountancy courses in Cardiff

The University welcomed a large number of employers, students and the ACCA and ICAEW professional bodies to the Atrium building on Thursday, 27th August for a breakfast information event.

The purpose of the event was to launch the University of South Wales’s ACCA and ACA tuition at Atlantic House, Cardiff Campus.

Guests networked with tutors and course leaders over bacon rolls and coffee before listening to a presentation by Academic Manager, Dr Jared Davies on existing and new course delivery options.

Tuition for the ACCA and ACA qualifications will commence at the Cardiff campus from September 2015 and January 2016 respectively, and will complement USW’s existing professional accounting course offerings (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) that run at the Professional Tuition Hub at Newport City Campus.

The University of South Wales has a rich and successful history of teaching professional accountancy courses. We are highly accredited, and we and our students are regular prize winners. Newport City Campus is an ACCA Platinum Approved Learning Partner, a CIMA Premium Learning Partner and an ICAEW Partner in Learning. We were PQ Magazine ‘Public Sector Accountancy College of the Year’ in 2010 and 2012, and were shortlisted for the award in 2011 and 2013-2015. Further, two of our final year ACCA students have won national prizes in both 2013 and 2014 and one of our ACA students was shortlisted for PQ ‘Student of the Year’ in 2015.
