Information Fair - Treforest

Our Information Fair, covering courses based at our Treforest site, will be held on Wednesday 29th March between 4pm - 7pm. The fair offers you the opportunity to speak to staff and students, explore the Campus and find out if the University of South Wales is right for you.

Make the most of your visit

You’ve probably got lots of questions about becoming a student at the University of South Wales – that’s great! At our Information Fair there will be just the right people to answer them. Subject advice on our courses, student finance, accommodation, careers, disability, dyslexia support and applying to university are all covered as part of the event.  We've got talks, tours, workshops too to help you make the most of your visit!

Subject Advice

Our academic staff will be available to discuss the courses that you’re interested in and answer any questions you may have.

Careers

Speak to our careers staff for individual advice and guidance, and find out about work experience, careers events and extra support.

Student Finance

We can answer your queries about all aspects of student finance – including tuition fees, loans, grants and scholarships.

Disability and Dyslexia Support

 A member of our team will be available to explain the specialist support on offer.

Accommodation

Come and speak to our accommodation staff to find out about the range of accommodation choices available for you. 


Applying to University 

Speak with our admissions staff to get all the information you need to apply to the University of South Wales.

Student money

Student Finance Talks


How much will university cost and how will you pay for it? In our Student Finance talks, you'll get a practical insight into financial support, such as student loans and grants, how and when to apply for funding, and extra sources of income. 

There will be three talks repeated throughout the day at 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Simply ask a member of staff on arrival and they'll be able to direct you to the next available talk.

Get a feel for what it’s like to be a student here and take the time to explore. Tours leave from outside Brecon Building between 4pm and 7pm, and take around 30 minutes.

Subject talks


In selected subject areas, talks and tours are also available alongside the advice stands. All subject-led sessions start at 4.15pm*, and you will be directed to these talks on your arrival following registration.

Engineering activities


We've got talks, tours and one-to-one advice on how you can become a professional engineer. Whether you’re looking to study a part-time qualification, undertake a degree course or want to progress onto a postgraduate Masters, there will be dedicated engineering activities and lecturers to inform and advise you.

USW Sport Park Tours


Take a tour of the USW Sport Park featuring strength and conditioning facilities, a cutting edge performance analysis suite, state-of-the-art teaching rooms and sports hall. There are also 11 outdoor pitches with various playing surfaces.

Tours will be available at a number of points during the information fair. Simply ask a member of staff and they'll be able to direct you to the next available tour.

Advice for Ex-Armed Forces personnel


Come along to the Armed Forces presentation at 6.00pm, and discover how our Armed Forces engagement team can support your application to study at USW using Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Understand how your experiences and learning may be used to gain entry onto our courses and find out what additional financial support is available.

In addition to this talk, the team will be available throughout the event to answer your questions and discuss your application to USW.
