Open Day: Get InvolvedEssential Talks

We’ve got a number of recommended talks scheduled throughout the day to give you an insight into life on campus. 

Start your day by finding out what the University of South Wales has to offer you in our Welcome talk followed by plenty of optional extras including a welsh provision talk, a Q & A with senior staff here in Cardiff, plus the chance to hear about student finance, accommodation and student life - check your programme for full details.

Student Finance

How much will university cost and how will you pay for it? Get a practical insight into financial support, such as student loans and grants, how and when to apply for funding, and extra sources of income.

Accommodation

Find out all you need to know about accommodation options at the University of South Wales. Where you live is just as important as what you learn, and we want this to be your home from home.

Student Life

In this session, our students share their experiences of life at the University of South Wales, so you know what it’s really like to study here – they’ll answer any questions you may have too.

Open Day: Information FairInformation Fair

You’ve probably got lots of questions about becoming a student at the University of South Wales – that’s great! At our Open Day there will be just the right people to answer them. 

Subject advice on our courses, student finance, accommodation, careers, disability, dyslexia support and applying to university are all covered as part of the day. Our friendly staff will be available in the foyer, providing you with the perfect opportunity to ask any questions on a one-to-one basis.

Note: Subject advice stands are only available from 1pm.

Subject Advice

Our academic staff will be available to discuss the courses that you’re interested in and answer any questions you may have.

Careers

Speak to our careers staff for individual advice and guidance, and find out about work experience, careers events and extra support.

Student Finance

We can answer your queries about all aspects of student finance – including tuition fees, loans, grants and scholarships.

Disability and Dyslexia Support

 A member of our team will be available to explain the specialist support on offer.

Accommodation

Come and speak to our accommodation staff to find out about the range of accommodation choices available for you. 


Applying to University

Take a Look Around

Get a feel for what it’s like to be a student here and take the time to explore. We have TWO FULL TOURS during our Open Day, which leave at 8.30am and 3.30pm. These take around 1 hour. You can also explore specific facilities as part of your subject session, but if you feel you've missed anything or want to see more, feel free to ask one of our Open Day team on the day.

Open Day Campus Tour


This is your chance to see all of our facilities and ask questions about day-to-day university life. Tours leave from the ATRiuM Foyer and run at the start and end of the Open Day ( see programme). They normally take around 1 hour, if there is anything in particular you'd like to see just let us know!

Accommodation Viewings

Liberty Bridge Accommodation


We recommend you go to the accommodation talk and take a look at the show flat located in Liberty Bridge, which is just across the road. It's open from 9am until 4pm, so just head on over, or ask one of our student ambassadors to point you in the right direction.

Important Information

Travel information and directions to our Cardiff Campus, can be found on our website: www.southwales.ac.uk/visiting.

If you’re coming by car, there's no parking available on campus. However, if you check the campus map on your programme you'll find car parks close by – there’s one directly opposite the ATRiuM building,  on Adam Street.

If you’re coming by train, Cardiff Central station is just ten minutes’ walk from the ATRiuM building, while Cardiff Queen Street station is only a two minute walk.
