VFX graduate wins Oscar for The Jungle Book

Daniel Kemeys graduated in 2015 from BA(Hons) Visual and Motion Effects, and in 2017 was part of the team that won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for The Jungle Book.

Since graduating, Daniel has worked for MPC and Cheap Shot as Digital Compositor, working on films including The Jungle Book, The Shallows, Suicide Squad and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

“My day to day role involves making things look cool! I use all the 3D elements provided by other artists, then spend my days placing stock footage; adding 2D elements to a 3D world, working with colour and exposure to merge the real footage with CG elements.

I can’t say enough about what the course has done for me - I now travel the world, doing what I love to do.”
