Ffion Price, from Cardiff, is studying the Sports Studies degree.
"I chose Sports Studies because I wasn't sure which area of sport I wanted to head into. Sports studies offers a wide variety of modules which will allow me to go into different pathways in sport when I graduate.
My career goals have always revolved around teaching. I love working with children in sport, both inside the classroom, and out, and this qualification will allow me to apply for a PGCE.
I love this course and especially enjoy the practical element. For our Enterprise module, we worked as teams to create a successful business project. We launched Beatball to students, which was a new experience for me, and one which developed my business and team working skills, tackling a new area within sport.
The highlight of the course so far has been delivering my own session to a group of primary school children. My placement module also allowed me to work in a school environment gaining lots of experience which will help me in the future.
The social aspect of university has been incredible! Playing for the University football team has been the highlight so far. We reached great heights by going unbeaten all season, winning the BUCS League and Cup in which I grabbed myself 20 goals in all competitions. From this, I have now been selected to represent Welsh Universities and play in a tournament competing against England and Scotland universities.
I would recommend Sports Studies to anyone who wants to make a career out of sport and is looking for a great university experience."
