Why study a USW course at your local college?

If you want an exciting career doing something you love, study a university course with us.
There are endless benefits of choosing to study from the comfort of your local college.

1. Courses on your doorstep

Imagine the time and money you could save by studying locally. You could continue working, juggle family life, care for a loved one, play sport for your
local team or stay closer to your friends.

2. Friendly and supportive

Colleges cater for learners of all ages, so whether you’re returning to learning as a mature student, or continuing from school or college, you’ll find a
welcoming environment. Class sizes tend to be smaller with specialist support on offer. You‘ll even have a University Link Officer and access to talks from
our progression assistants.

3. Accessible university qualifications

If you don’t have the entry requirements to go straight on to a full Honours degree, you could study an HNC, HND or Foundation Degree at college. You could then progress to a full degree to gain an even higher level qualification, either at college or at the University of South Wales. Our partner colleges also offer Access to Higher Education courses if you don’t have formal
qualifications.

4. Impressive facilities and resources

Many of our partner colleges have benefitted from huge investment over the past few years, and they boast impressive facilities and teaching spaces. You’ll also have access to University resources, such as our libraries, careers service and Students’ Union.

5. Flexibility and choice

There are options to study full or part-time in many subjects. Some courses are delivered during the day and others in the evening, making it easy to fit study
around your life.

6. An exciting career

A higher education qualification can mean better job prospects and rewarding careers. Many courses even include a work placement, which can look great on

your CV. You can also take part in our unique Grad Edge Award, which helps develop your employability skills.
