The Step up to Management is an exciting new programme for aspiring social care and health managers, developed by Social Care Wales and the University of South Wales.

Social care and health need managers who are knowledgeable, dedicated and passionate about delivering good quality care and support. If you are interested in developing your career as a manager who can make a real difference, then this course is for you.

What you will study

The part-time course will provide you with the knowledge and understanding needed to make the transition into a management role. The University Certificate award will cover three key areas of leadership and management within social care and health:

  • Leadership and management of person centred practice in social care
  • Theories, models and frameworks for the leadership and management of social care services
  • Leadership and management of effective team performance in social care
You will learn through a mixture of face-to face lectures and online distance learning.
