Els is a Relational-Integrative psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor who has been a visiting lecturer to the Counselling team since 1991 and has contributed to the Certificate, Diploma and Masters stages of the Counselling programmes. Together with Lesley Spencer she developed and has been teaching the Postgraduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision since 2000.
Els has a great deal of supervision experience and continues to supervise practitioners from a wide variety of contexts, including the NHS, higher education, private and voluntary organisations and private practice. Els obtained her doctorate (Dpsych) in 2008 from Middlesex University and has co-written a textbook which is used by the Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
