USW has a wide range of services and facilities on our campuses, from state-of-the-art sports pitches, free legal advice, counselling, business support, health services and much more.

These provisions are open to the local community, as well as our students and colleagues.

Behaviour Analysis


Our Behaviour Analysis Clinic, located close to the Pontypridd Campus, uses therapeutic approaches with a wealth of scientific evidence demonstrating its effectiveness in treating the behavioural challenges associated with a wide range of disorders, including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, and conduct disorder. 

Behaviour analysts focus on understanding how one’s interactions with the environment influence behaviour, as well as designing effective interventions to help people learn appropriate behaviours and increase their success across a range of life domains. Behaviour analysts can also train and support parents, teachers, and service providers in the implementation of evidence-based practices for improving challenging behaviour.  

Business support


USW Exchange is the front door for business engagement at the University of South Wales. The team provides personalised diagnostic and triage to access the University's expertise, including signposting to funding; and our blended event programme of on-site networking opportunities and virtual briefings are designed to enable growth and support your business challenges.

Our Exchange hubs in Pontypridd and Newport provide members with free-to-access meeting and co-working space, equipped with the latest technology; and we're the first step for developing strong, mutually beneficial partnerships that address global challenges, encourage knowledge exchange and inspire innovation.



USW has a range of cafes, restaurants and coffee shops across all of its campuses which are open to the public as well as our colleagues and students. With hot and cold refreshments available, including everything from handcrafted coffee and homemade desserts, to healthy salads, sandwiches and themed dishes from around the world, there’s something for every appetite. 

We also offer a Click and Collect service at Stilts restaurant and Crawshays coffee shop, both on our Treforest Campus.

Acorns Nursery Treforest is an independent nursery located on our Pontypridd Campus. The nursery management team have had over 20 years experience working within Acorns. The children of our students and colleagues at USW, as well as children from the wider community, are welcomed into the picturesque nursery setting. 

Each group has their own base room and access to the tree-lined garden area enabling them to freely move between stimulating activities in the indoor and outdoor environment. All of the equipment is of the finest quality, chosen for its play and learning potential and is age appropriate to ensure that babies and children are learning through play.  

Chiropractic Clinic

Whether you are experiencing chronic back pain or seeking help to diagnose and treat problems with your joints or muscles, our clinical services offer the opportunity to assess your condition and advise you on your treatments options.  

The Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) is located at our Pontypridd Campus offers a range of clinical care and chiropractic treatments. Anyone can make an appointment – there is no need to be referred by another healthcare provider.  

Conferencing and Events

The USW Conference Centre, at our Pontypridd campus, provides flexible, adaptable space for a wide variety of events, with the added advantage of on-site accommodation during the summer months. 

It is a dedicated, purpose-built conference centre, run by an experienced team of event professionals, making the Conference Centre the ideal location for everything from small, select meetings to major conferences.

USW Therapy, based at our Newport Campus, is a therapeutic service, offering a range of psychological therapies to professionals, businesses, third sector organisations and members of the public. We can offer a range of counselling options depending on your needs.   

USW Therapy has a strong history of running a professional counselling service for the residents of Newport and surrounding areas and working in partnership with statutory and third sector organisations and local businesses. From our suite of counselling rooms we are able to offer a range of  services to people and organisations from the South Wales area, including (but not limited to) Newport, Cardiff, Caerphilly, Treforest, Usk, Cwmbran and Chepstow. The service offers both a funded and a reduced cost service.   

Legal Advice Clinic


We run free public appointments where students (with qualified legal supervision) interview and assess clients, and draw up legal advice in several legal areas such as employment, housing, debt, family and contract matters. 

We may also be able to assist in other areas of law utilising our links with local firms such as Capital Law, Harding Evans and Howells who also provide free legal advice and support to the clinic. 


Oriel y Bont

Oriel y Bont is the University’s art gallery and museum, located inside the Ty Crawshay building on our Treforest Campus.

The gallery is open to the public and welcomes local and international visitors to exhibitions throughout the year, including art installations, photographic collections and more, providing a platform for work by students, colleagues and many local artists.



The USW Sport Park is a fantastic 30-acre site located in Treforest, hosting top of the range facilities including an indoor FIFA standard 3G football pitch, which houses a Catapult ClearSky Indoor GPS System, a notational analysis suite, a strength and conditioning room, an all-weather pitch, an outdoor 3G pitch and numerous multi use grass pitches. The campus is used as a training base for local sports clubs as well as numerous professional clubs including Cardiff City Academy, Cardiff Blues and the Women's Football Association of Wales.  

FitZone, located at our Pontypridd Campus, is open throughout the year and offers more than 28 classes a week during term time, ranging from hot Yoga to kettlebells. The main hall has six badminton courts, and the gym has more than 50 cardiovascular exercise machines plus weight training equipment. There are squash courts, a climbing wall, a studio for dance and martial arts, and a strength room.  

USW Print and Design


USW Print and Design offers a range of print, design, copy and binding services for USW students, colleagues and the wider community.  

Our friendly, experienced and helpful team can assist with all your printing needs. We also have three in-house graphic designers, providing a comprehensive design service. As well as an online store, the Print and Design shop stocks essential stationery and art supplies, located at our Treforest Campus.
