Whether large or small, your gift has the potential to make significant impact. You can maximise your generosity through considering one of the following:
By signing up for Gift Aid, every £1 you donate will allow us to claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you. If you donate £100 to the University of South Wales, you’ll actually be giving £125.
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows the University to reclaim the basic rate tax on your gifts. How ever you choose to donate and whatever the amount - large or small, regular or one-off - Gift Aid allows us to raise more money in support our current priorities.
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can sign up to Gift Aid today by filling out and returning our quick and easy Gift Aid Form.
In addition, donors who are higher-rate or additional rate taxpayers can claim personal tax relief on the difference between the higher/additional rate of tax (currently 40% and 45% respectively) and the basic rate in their Self Assessment Return. This is worth 25 pence for every pound donated by higher rate taxpayers and 31 pence for additional rate taxpayers.
For more information about Gift Aid, please visit the HM Revenue & Customs website.
Your company may offer payroll giving. Payroll giving means that your donation is deducted from your salary before tax, so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 75p, or 60p if you are a higher rate taxpayer.

While schemes vary from company to company, by giving through a company matched-giving scheme, you could double the value of your donation to USW.
Donations given in this way are 'topped up' by your employer -sometime pound for pound - increasing the amount that we, as a charity, receive.
