Regardless of where our lives take us however, one thing we do know is that we’ve all made friends for life at USW and we will always keep in touch.
Guto, Nischay (Nick), Max, Eddie and Alex have become firm friends during their time at USW. As they approach graduation, Guto looks back on their friendship and their plans to visit Nick in his home country of India this Summer.
“We all met at Freshers’ week when we all started at USW in 2013. We hit it off around the pool table in the SU bar and before long we were all close friends working, partying and eventually living with each other.
Being from a rural town in Wales, I didn’t imagine one of my best friends at Uni coming from India and Nick says he expected to just hang out with other International students. But, it’s been great meeting someone else from a completely different country and culture. I have made many international friends here which has really made me grow as a person. It’s been a huge part of my University experience.
Now, after graduation, we’re all planning to travel to India to visit Nick. The plan is to visit the South of India first, seeing Bangalore and Goa, then travelling West to Mumbai and then to the North to visit New Delhi, and finally to the Indian parts of the Himalayas. We want to try to visit as many places as possible - temples, party spots and adventure trails such as white water rafting in the Himalayas...we can't wait!
The future after graduation is exciting – me, Nick, Max and Eddie all study Film at USW so are looking to work in the TV/Film industry and maybe even follow the success of other Graduates lik Asif Kapadia in winning an Oscar! Alex studies Psycholofy and is looking to work in social services or possibly work in counselling.
Regardless of where our lives take us however, one thing we do know is that we’ve all made friends for life at USW and we will always keep in touch.”
