BBQ reception held for graduates and friends in Dubai

The University of South Wales -  in partnership with the Welsh Society, British Embassy Dubai and the Welsh Government - warmly welcomed alumni living or working in UAE to a BBQ Social in Dubai on Friday 29 September.

As the University of South Wales continues to make connections in Dubai and the wider Gulf region ahead of the launch of its aviation engineering education provision, alumni from across the years attended an event at the British Embassy.

Graduates from a range of academic disciplines including business, engineering and sport - and their families - came together on one of the hottest days of the season to enjoy the hospitality on offer, and to hear more ahead of the official launch of the University's degree provision in UAE.

Dr Akram Hammoudeh, Director of University of South Wales Dubai spoke alongside Phil Taylor, Regional Manager MENA, Welsh Government and Paul Fox, Her Majesty's Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in welcoming graduates, friends and other guests to the event.

Rachael Barker, Head of Alumni Relations and Development comments: "Reconnecting with graduates from across the years within the UAE and wider Gulf region is important as we develop our presence in Dubai. The success of our graduates  - in this region and across the world - is a fantastic reflection of the University providing the foundation for lifelong success.

We're proud to see so many graduates doing so well in their sector. As we develop our degree provision in Dubai, we look forward to connecting with graduates from all disciplines - developing reciprocal benefits and facilitating new opportunities for their business connections."
