The USW Freelancers Academy takes students and graduates (up to two years after graduation) through the steps needed to get their business idea off the ground. The USW Freelancers Academy is an annual event that takes place over 1 week. This year it has been scheduled to run between the 5 and 9 of June. There are a maximum of 25 spaces available.
As an applicant you need to complete a short application form stating why you want to attend. The week will cover all the basics of business plans, marketing, networking and getting yourself out there, the week is designed to help entrepreneurial students and graduates move into the world of self-employment.
Mentoring will be available to all participants and the week will culminate in the chance to pitch for a share of £1,000 cash.
The Academy is delivered by university staff, business mentors and experienced external entrepreneurs and is funded by the Welsh Government.
All applications should be made online using the online application form before Friday 12 May 2017. All applications received will go through a shortlisting process.
Freelance Academy is a week long programme and participation is required for all five days between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm.
A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided on all five days.
The event will be held in University of South Wales Atrium, Cardiff Campus.
