Alumni

Call out to alumni to help inspire our students

CyberFutures_March2017

Today's students are under incredible pressure to transition into the right career after their studies - be this as they initially leave university, or after having taken time-out to benefit from volunteering, independent travel or a workplace internship.

As a University, we want to support them in every way possible, and so each year deliver a calendar of 'Careers Futures' events. The majority of these highly inspirational and informative sessions  are held with the support of graduates returning to campus who contribute their own personal insights, top tips and sector experiences.

We're currently firming up our 2018-19 schedule and are seeking alumni volunteers from across business, industry, sport and the third-sector . Your involvement may be as a keynote or perhaps as a member of an alumni panel. Alternatively if you're unable to return to campus in person, we're also happy to profile you for use across our student-facing channels.

Graduate insight is proven inspiration for current students and so we are currently appealing for volunteers from the following sectors:

  • Education
  • Creative Industries
  • Humanities
  • Law
  • Media
  • Psychology
  • Sport

We're always keen to welcome alumni to our careers schedule to help inspire the next generation. There are opportunities to be part of industry panels, guest speaker events, student study skills sessions... and much more.

If you would like to find out more with no obligation please email the Alumni Team (alumni@southwales.ac.uk) and a member of the Team would be happy to talk to you about volunteering opportunities.

A fantastic way to broaden your own experience and enhance your CV with public speaking.
