WALES COACHING CONFERENCE 2020: Achieving Impact

THURSDAY 5TH MARCH 2020, VALE RESORT HENSOL

We are delighted to present our 7th Annual Coaching Conference, bringing together some of the world’s leading practitioners and academics in the field of coaching.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Achieving Impact’. How do we know, as a coach, that we are achieving impact and making a difference for our clients; as individuals and within those organisations in which they work.

The conference is aimed at coaching and mentoring practitioners and facilitators, training and HR managers and anyone that wants to embed a coaching culture within their organisation.

We pride ourselves on providing delegates of the Wales Coaching Conference with internationally renowned keynote speakers. This year we welcome Erik De Haan and Christian Van Nieuwerburgh to the Vale resort where they will explore the theme of ‘Achieving Impact’.

Speaker profile – Erik De Haan
Erik de Haan is the Director of Ashridge’s Centre for Coaching and Professor of Organisation Development at the VU University Amsterdam. He joined Ashridge in 2002 whilst his coaching approach was informed by his earlier counselling and psychodynamic training.

After gaining five years of experience as a coach and counsellor for executives and consultants, from 2000 Erik started to work as a supervisor and accreditor for other coaches. He is now Programme Director of Ashridge’s two-year Masters (MSc) in Executive Coaching and Ashridge’s one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Supervision.

Keynote Summary
In this keynote we will look at the ‘field’ surrounding individual coaching sessions in organisations. How do we think coaching makes an organisational impact (or not)? Can we strengthen individual sessions with the help of other O.D. interventions such as team coaching or even process consultation? What about boundaries around coaching? Confidentiality in mixed assignments? The support coaches need to sustain their organisational impact?

Speaker profile – Christian Van Nieuwerburgh
Prof. Christian van Nieuwerburgh is Executive Director of Growth Coaching International, Professor of Coaching and Positive Psychology at the University of East London (UK), Visiting Professor at the University of Bergamo (Italy) and Honorary Fellow at the Centre of Positive Psychology of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne (Australia).

Christian is recognised as a thought-leader in the fields of coaching in education and the integration of coaching and positive psychology. He has published numerous articles, book chapters and books on these topics. He regularly delivers keynote addresses globally and undertakes research into the application of coaching and positive psychology in professional contexts.

Keynote Summary
In this keynote address, Christian will make the case for integrating coaching psychology and positive psychology in order to have a greater impact within groups, organisations and society. The presentation will offer strategies for integrating coaching and positive psychology into everyday practice and provide delegates with an overview of the latest thinking in this area.
