We’ve designed a series of leadership and management workshops to help you enhance your skills and become a more effective leader at any stage of your career. Workshops can be booked individually, allowing you to tailor your learning, or as a package to achieve an ILM qualification at level 5 (middle management) and level 7 (senior management). These options can be delivered as bespoke programmes at your organisation, or you can attend here at the university and achieve an award, certificate or diploma level qualification.

Level 5 Qualification

For middle managers, the workshops include:

Resilience, 13th December 2018, £195 per delegate
Be the Leader you would Follow, 9th & 10th January 2019, £295 per delegate

Having Difficult Conversations, dates tbc, £195 per delegate

Coaching in the Workplace, dates tbc, £295 per delegate

To achieve the ILM Level 5 Award in Leadership & Management, you must complete Coaching in the Workplace, Resilience and Be the Leader you would Follow. £995 per delegate, fee includes ILM registration and assignment marking.

Level 7 Qualification

For senior managers, the workshops include:

Power, Politics, Influencing and Networking

To achieve the ILM Level 7 Award in Leadership & Management, you must complete all of the above modules. If you don't want the qualification, you can attend the modules that are relevant to your learning requirements.

Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Strategic Management
and Leadership

Who is it for?

The NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is aimed at senior managers or those about to take their first step into senior management. The qualification centres on developing your strategic leadership and management skills, focussing on developing organisational strategy and turning this into effective performance.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific academic requirements but candidates must be working in a position in which they can gain the evidence necessary to prove competent performance.

What does it include?

To gain the full NVQ you will need to achieve a minimum of 45 credits, including the 3 mandatory units from Group 1 (16 credits), a minimum of 29 credits from Group 2 ensuring that overall you have a minimum of 35 credits at Level 7.

What are the progression routes?

The NVQ level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership can lead to membership with both the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and The Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The qualification gives you a minimum of 45 credits at postgraduate level enabling you to progress onto the university’s others postgraduate programmes e.g. Masters in Leadership & Management, Masters in Business Administration (MBA)* etc.

*Note: Minimum of 5 years management experience required for MBA entry
