We collaborate with faculties and professional services to support staff in educational enhancement and personal development. Our activities are integrated with faculties, focusing on helping staff to design and deliver active, inclusive, and flexible learning approaches, aligned with the vision for the USW Curriculum 2030.

CELT offers educational leadership, services, and resources to all staff who support learning and teaching at USW.
We aim to foster learning enhancement and pedagogic research; lead staff recognition schemes; facilitate innovative curriculum design; and support digital learning technologies and digital skills development.
What we do
Through accredited courses, professional recognition schemes, and professional development events, we provide a range of support and development opportunities for staff engaged in teaching and supporting learning.
We:
- Provide new and experienced staff with innovative approaches to teaching, learning and assessment through professional development, mentorship, advice and specialist support.
- Support and advise staff and course teams in aligning their teaching and learning practices with the principles of the USW Curriculum 2030.
- Lead the advancement of digitally-enhanced educational practices across all faculties.
- Support and contribute to pedagogical research initiatives.
- Deliver research-informed staff development programmes and courses, including the PgCert in Higher Education.
- Lead recognition and award initiatives, including AdvanceHE-accredited programmes.
- Establish platforms for sharing expertise in learning and teaching throughout USW, fostering a culture of excellence in academic practice.

CELT employs teams of dedicated specialists in assessment, curriculum and professional development; scholarship of teaching and learning; and digitally enabled education; supported by specialists in design, communications, event organisation and administration.
