Screen Alliance Wales partnership allows students to work on leading television productions

Students from Film & TV School Wales have had the opportunity to work on major TV productions such as the BBC his drama series His Dark Materials as well as the Lena Dunham-directed HBO drama ‘Industry’, and two series of Sky One’s popular drama `A Discovery of Witches’ thanks to a unique partnership between Screen Alliance Wales and USW.

The three-year deal will see Screen Alliance Wales continue to promote the work between them and Film & Television School Wales while also providing new opportunities and placements for USW students. They have also delivered masterclasses, workshops and events for our students, based at the Cardiff Campus and at partner colleges.

SAW will also continue to work with USW to develop further potential partnerships, and to work with schools to promote and judge the annual Film & Television School Wales Schools & Colleges Awards.

Over the past year, more than 50 students were given shadowing placements, while 30 students were employed in paid positions. A further 500 USW students have toured the Studios to see behind the scenes and meet production teams.
