Live Brief with Gwent Police
First year BA (Hons) Graphic Communication students were set a challenge to produce a series of promotional posters and social media strategies that could be used during the Halloween season to help the public celebrate safely and responsibly.
Students pitched their ideas to Gwent Police which resulted in Kenneth Rees’s work being selected as overall outcome winner, meaning his work will be used across Gwent over Halloween.
“To be given a live brief only a few weeks into our course was really exciting. It was great experience to respond to a brief with set deadlines and goals. The constructive feedback given to me helped me realise where I would need to improve if working in industry. I really enjoyed the whole project”
Ryan Preece, Course Leader for Graphic Communication added: Kenneth worked exceptionally hard on this client facing project. The aim of the design thinking in practice module is to encourage students to understand the process of design thinking and put their creative ideas into practice with direct contact with an industry professional. It’s exciting to see first year students taking on real world design challenges and gaining insights into design practice at such an early stage in the course.”
