The rise of Trwbador

Trwbador Creative Sound and Music

TRWBADOR are a boy and a girl that make electronic music.  Formed in 2010 at the University of South Wales by students Angharad Van Rijswijk and Owain Gwilym, they perform in Welsh and English and have a reputation for enchanting life performances.

Both are producers and songwriters.  Lead vocals are taken care of by Angharad, most guitar parts are performed by Owain.  Growing up around illegal raves and traditional celtic music has influenced their sound but not defined it.

The Elekctro-Folk-Rave duo now release records via own label, Owlet Music and have been catching the attention of journalists, DJs and musos alike since 2010. Their recent album was picked as Album of the Day by BBC Radio 6 Music.

Owain said: "Trwbador was conceived in the second year of Uni as an idea for a final project in the third year. After leaving USW I continued to play gigs and make music, then luckily one of the tracks was used on a couple of adverts. My highlights since leaving Uni have been playing Glastonbury festival and all of the people in other bands that I've met."
