This is a professionally endorsed Youth and Community course - this means that you have the opportunity to gain a degree and a professional recognition. Students will be recognised as a professional practitioner on completion.
A third of the course is practice based so you have hands-on experience of working with young people. You also have a professional supervisor to offer you guidance on a one-to-one basis.
All of the Youth and Community Work Team at USW come from a practice background, and most are still youth workers. This means our lectures are up-to-date and linked to current practice and policy.
Staff in the Youth and Community Work Team take studying seriously and all are studying at Higher Education level themselves. Therefore, have a real empathy with students and what it’s like to study.
Did we mention there are excellent opportunities for you to study and practice overseas, from Europe to Africa?!
