Student Alexios Papazoglou explains how BEng Automotive Engineering has helped turn a car fascination into a career.

As an automotive engineering student at USW, I ended up here largely because of my older brother's fantastic experience at the same university. The Treforest Campus at USW caught my eye with its lively atmosphere and cutting-edge facilities. To me, it's one of the most serene yet stimulating places to study, equipped to accommodate students from all over the globe.

Cars have always fascinated me, so naturally, I was drawn to the automotive engineering course. I relished the opportunity to transform my lifelong fascination into a viable career. Technology evolves so quickly, so it's exhilarating to learn the fundamental principles behind it. I'm convinced that the course's emphasis on advanced programming concepts will give me a significant edge in the competitive job market.

My coursework has exposed me to a variety of software programs essential for product design and manufacturing. This experience has not only equipped me with practical skills but has also enhanced my critical thinking and outlook - invaluable attributes for any engineer.

When I think about the advice I'd give to prospective students, I can't help but reflect on advice I have lived by - "Put in the hard work and be patient, because nothing is unattainable." I would also highlight the vast opportunities and career paths that an engineering course can create.

As I near the end of my studies, I'm confident that the blend of theoretical and practical knowledge I've gained at USW will prove beneficial in my career. I feel as if I'm on the verge of turning my career dream into reality.
