Digital Investigation Techniques
Advanced Digital Investigation Techniques is a third year modules studied on BSc (Hons) Computer Forensics
Computer forensics is a term that brings together three subject disciplines, computing, the law and forensic science. It is the process of understanding a suspect's digital footprint and piecing together clues as to whether they were most likely involved in criminal activity.
In this third year module students will address the challenges of digital forensic investigations not only of today, but will be encouraged to engage in discussion about the challenges they will face in the world of tomorrow all the while remaining in line with the core principles set forward by the Association of Chief Police Officer's (ACPO) Good Practice Guide on Digital Evidence.
This module addresses forensic issues relating to physical recovery of damaged media, network sources, embedded devices and malware analysis.
