Music students enjoy masterclasses at world-famous studios
Students from BSc Popular Music Technology, BA Popular & Commercial Music and MA Songwriting & Production courses have enjoyed masterclasses at the world-renowned Rockfield Studios in Monmouth.
Working in the same recording studios as Queen, Oasis, Coldplay and Robert Plant – to name just a few – they recorded songs written by the Songwriting students, which were further developed and recorded by the Music Technology and the Popular Music students, with input from the songwriters. In all, four tracks were recorded during the sessions.
Jack Boston, a USW graduate, and Joe Jones – Rockfield’s in-house engineers – were impressed by the professionalism, knowledge and talent displayed by all students who attended the masterclasses.
