Inside the classroom
Students’ learning experiences bring benefits inside and outside the classroom. Friendships are forged, based on an immediate common interest in the degree that they have opted to study. Student presentations provide the opportunity to give and receive feedback from the lecturer and other students, an excellent way to enhance personal and professional development. Students are considering theories on communication and how such theories might inform work with people who need care and support. "The teachers are great at conveying information in a way that everyone can understand. If you struggle with anything, they are willing to go over it in different ways or one-to-one," says Molly, a final year student. We are discussing how people who need health and social care services can best access easy-to-understand information, advice and support that respects their dignity.
