Graduate Andrew Roberts from the BSc (Hons) Logistics and Supply Chain Management course, gives us a brief overview of his role as Assistant Regional Supply Chain Manager, in the NHS, during the height of the pandemic. He discusses how the workforce has adapted to deal with the challenges and demands from the healthcare industry, as well as his own role.
He says "We have had to deal with a whole host of challenges during the Covid-19 outbreak. We needed to make sure we were continuing to support our critical frontline services by becoming more agile and flexible. Staff are on call 24/7 to respond to urgent stock demands from hospitals. As a service we've hired additional staff and vehicles to transport nurses to different sites so they can carry out Covid-19 testing."
