Brave new world

Aqeel, LLB Law

Aqeel Mustafa, from Pakistan, is studying LLB (Hons) Law.

A couple of years back, I decided to come to the University of South Wales. I successfully completed my International Foundation Programme and then progressed to the law degree.

The Law School here combines the academic with the practical aspects of the law, not only preparing you for a legal career but also providing you with a wide range of skills that are highly valued in many occupations.

The course is fascinating with my favourite module so far being Contract Law. Contract law covers all of the aspects of contract: when a contract is formed, how to end a contract, and what counts as having performed contractual obligations.

Initially, the vast quantity of reading daunted me but the logical and critical thinking keeps me on my feet, and with every lecture I learn something new and interesting.

My study skills, ways of reasoning and approaching a question have progressed positively.

The lecturers have a vast knowledge and wealth of experience from working in Law, and use examples from their own legal careers as starting points to discuss topics.

Studying abroad

It can be pretty dauting to leave your country, family and routine to come abroad but I would totally recommend it to anyone interested in enriching their degree with the experience of a new culture or just looking for an amazing adventure.

Without a doubt the University of South Wales is a great place for a qualifying Law degree - and to be an international student!
