"Having been in the music industry for 27 years (and counting) I feel that I have a lot of information to impart and advice to offer students.

I'll be teaching the creative and professional skill sets that are intrinsic to being a skilled music practitioner, including performance, songwriting, studio work and music business practice.

Being in the final year of my PhD I can understand what students go through, as an academic as well as a popular musician - and equally important, what they need to learn to help in their careers.

We have big plans that we are putting in place right now for the coming academic years.

There will be high profile guests from across all aspects of music-making.

One of Depeche Mode is coming in next year and Madonna's and Massive Attack's drummer is coming in next month. And that's just for starters. There will be some exciting opportunities for students to really get involved with the music industry and its creative sides.

Cardiff is such a great place to study this course and be a music graduate.

It’s recently been voted the best city to live in across the whole of the UK which says it all really!

The music culture in Cardiff is really vibrant with many opportunities for music students.

Studying BA Popular and Commercial Music here will give any successful student an in-road into a career in whatever aspect of the industry they ultimately see themselves having a career in."
