Acclaimed music engineer and producer Ken Scott visited USW Music and Sound students to talk to them about his experiences working with the Beatles and at Abbey Road in the 1960’s.
Ken is widely known for being one of the five main engineers for the Beatles, as well as engineering Elton John, Pink Floyd, Procol Harum, and Duran Duran, to name but a few. Ken is also noted for his work as a producer working with David Bowie.
Ken delivered spoke with USW students about his his book, ‘Abbey Road to Ziggy Stardust’. He also took a masterclass with MSc Music Engineering and Production students in USW's own recording studios.
Music lecturer Stuart Jones commented: “It’s important for us to get people in from the industry to do sessions like this for students to get a real insight into the industry. Ken worked with the students directly in the studios to see what they were working on and answered questions about his time working with the Beatles and how the music industry has changed since the ’60’s.”
