Gertrude Nankumba is an MSc Human Resource Management student from Uganda. She talks about her experiences of being an international student on the course.

"I loved my time on the MSc Human Resource Management. The experience broadened my mindset. By studying abroad, I had the opportunity to meet people from many cultures. This enriched the learning experience. During classes, we were encouraged to share the practices that take place in our home countries. So, we learnt a lot from one another.

Studying abroad can be a big change to your life. The University recognises this and has support in place, helping you to adapt to your new surroundings. The Advice Zone is a fantastic service. It’s something I utilised during my studies.

The facilities at the University are fantastic. Everything you need to succeed is at your disposal. All you have to do is make the most of what’s available. I found the library particularly useful as there are a wealth of journals and books you can access, when reading around topics you’ve covered in class or when working on assignments.

Education in the UK is highly regarded around the globe. It's why I chose to study the masters in human resource management at USW. Travelling to the UK was the first experience I’ve had visiting another country. I was very impressed with the welcome I received, and of people's willingness to help, with anything, I was unsure of.”
