Atang Diphoko is an MSc International Business and Enterprise student from Botswana.
"The MSc International Business and Enterprise course covers the many disciplines of business in an international context, making it an ideal course for me. The course also includes travel to another European country; visiting companies and learning about how they operate which I was particularly keen to take up, as I have a passion for travelling and learning about other cultures.
Since starting the course I have found it to be both challenging and engaging. The Entrepreneurial Start-up module has been fantastic! As part of the module we had to undertake a Dragon’s Den style challenge, where we had to develop a business idea and pitch to a panel of experts. This task was really enjoyable and involved us working in groups, helping us to develop our interpersonal skills within multi-cultural environments.
In addition to the course, I also participated in the Women’s Entrepreneurship Hub and Bright Ideas workshops. These were recommended to me by the teaching staff as they are designed to further stimulate business thinking. I have been able to feed what I have learned from these sessions into the classroom.
Overall it has been an absolute pleasure being a student here. There is a desirable abundance of business knowledge within the University of South Wales, which is what has set the learning style here quite different to my home country. The course is delivered through an integrated way of learning where I am encouraged to develop new skills, generate ideas, put forward my opinions, discuss and debate with fellow students and lecturers too. Pursuing the MSc International Business and Enterprise has enriched my entrepreneurial aspirations along with interests of a career in international investment and trade following graduation."
