Postgraduate Certificate in Metabolic Medicine

The field of metabolic medicine is rapidly evolving, with new research and advancements in technology leading to improved diagnosis and treatment of metabolic disorders such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension (LeRoith et al. 2015). As healthcare professionals, it is crucial for us to stay up-to-date with these developments in order to provide evidence-based care for patients. A level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Metabolic Medicine would provide healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the management of the main metabolic disorders (Pfeiffer et al. 2015).

There is significant clinical demand for expertise in metabolic medicine, however, until now there has not been a course which addresses this.

Tutors have requested for this course to be created to meet the rising demand for metabolic specialists.

This programme is designed for medical professionals with an interest in metabolic medicine, such as GPs, nurses, pharmacists, clinical biochemists, sports scientists and dieticians. The market is large both in the UK and internationally. There is demand for HCPs with a good understanding of metabolic medicine, particularly in the context of the growing burden of obesity and comorbidities of hypertension and diabetes.

This course is subject to validation.
