The BA (Hons) Graphic Communication course is not a typical Graphic Design course. Our team of academics and extensive network of commercially practising designers believe that a university design course should be equipping graduates with attributes that prepare them for a rapidly changing world, ready to deal with tomorrow’s problems.

The practical element of this graphic design masters is strengthened by an enhanced critical understanding of contemporary professional design debates, issues, and trends, plus a greater understanding of research and how to apply them effectively.

You’ll study at USW’s creative campus in the centre of Cardiff. Our studios offer views of the city, and social spaces for generating ideas and collaborating with other students. All our facilities are purpose-built and industry-standard, so you'll have all the professional equipment and software you need while you study, helping you prepare for your tomorrow, today.

Through our holistically designed modules, carefully planned assessment and live briefs, and involvement with our industry partners, our students are equipped with a wide range of discipline-specific and transferable skills to prepare them for industry.

The course has had sixteen years of graduates, and we are very proud to see them working in art departments for every conceivable film and tv production. Travelling through time and space on shows like Doctor Who, The Crown and The Witcher, to films like Doctor Strange, Black Widow and Ant Man.
