Sport and Societies

Believe it or not, there is a lot more to University than lectures, seminars and coursework.

Joining a society or a sports team can open you up to new experiences, new skills and most importantly, new friends.

At USW, we have a close-knit community of students and an excellent Students' Union who can help you be a part of existing societies or even hand you the tools to create your own!

If you have a competitive side, USW also boasts a thriving sporting community with over 60 teams playing in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) leagues.

Freshers Fair

Joining a sports teamclub or society at University can be a great way to meet new people, enjoy your hobbies and try something new.

Our sports teamsclubs and societies all have stalls at our Freshers' Fair where you can sign up for trials with the sports teams, and join the clubs and societies.

You can find a list of our clubs and societies on the USW Student Union website.

Take a look at this video from our 2019 Welcome Week where you will see the incredible variety of societies and clubs you could join.
