The University offers the following scholarships for self-funding international students. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application. 

Courses starting in September 2021 and February 2022

  • £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,500 for postgraduate students

Foundation Entry Requirements

  • Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year 1 of a Bachelor degree.
  • Students who have a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) will be considered for our Faculty Foundation Years.
  • An overall average between 50% - 64% (Bhutan Education Board) in the 12th Standard

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • An overall average of 65% or above obtained in the 12th Standard (HSEC)
  • An overall average of 55% or above obtained from the 2 year Diploma at The Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), formerly known as Royal Bhutanese Polytechnic 

Undergraduate Advanced

  • Advanced entry to certain undergraduate degree programmes may be possible for students who hold a UK HND or Indian Diploma in a relevant subject – refer to the Faculty for consideration Postgraduate Entry Requirements

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

  • Students who have completed a 4 year degree and obtained 60% in a recognised undergraduate degree can be considered for entry  
  • Students who have completed a 3 year degree and obtained 60% in a recognised undergraduate degree can be considered for:
  • 1. MSc Management
  • 2. MSc Engineering Management
  • 3. MSc International Business and Enterprise

English Entry Requirements

  • 65% or higher in the HSEC (12th standard) English subject
  • IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in each band or equivalent (some courses require higher IELTS – please refer to relevant course page on website)
  • PTE 50 overall with no less than 42 in each module
  • GCSE English (O’Level) with minimum C grade
