We have three vibrant campuses around the capital city of Wales; Cardiff. Here, you can enjoy a high standard of living at a low cost. Most of our 500 + courses are recognised or accredited by professional organisations and are all taught with employability in mind. That’s why 96% of USW graduates are in Employment and/or Further Study 15 months after graduation (Graduate Outcomes Survey 2021/22).


Everything you need to know

As a self-funding international student from Cameroon, you are eligible for a scholarship of:

  • £2,500 per year for undergraduate students
  • £2,500 per year for postgraduate students

This applies to courses starting in September 2024 and February 2025. You will be automatically considered for one of these awards when we receive your application.

  • Foundation Years are available to students who don't meet the academic requirements for entry directly onto year one of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Students who have a good level of English (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) will be considered for our Faculty Foundation Years.

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Undergraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

  • GCSE/A Level/O Level English Language grade C or above
  • IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each band)

Don’t worry if you do not meet these requirements as we offer a range of English Language courses.

Academic Qualifications

The following qualifications are considered for year one entry onto a Bachelor's degree award:

  • Applicants who have good grades at General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (6 straight A’s) may apply for entry to appropriate undergraduate programmes and applications will be considered on an individual basis
  • Baccalaureat with an overall score of 12 or above (assez bien/fair) or above

English Qualifications

Proficiency in English is essential for Postgraduate study. The University of South Wales also recognises the following English language qualifications:

  • GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
  • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component. Please note that some courses may require a higher level of English language proficiency than the University’s standard requirements. Please see the course page for further information.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Licence) with an overall score of 12 or above may be admitted to postgraduate courses
  • Diplome d’ingenieur (passable or above) or Maitrise with GPA 2.0 and above out of 4.0
