I chose USW for its great facilities and outstanding student support. I’m based in the Atrium on the Cardiff Campus. It’s a modern building and the classrooms and equipment are excellent; they have everything you need to work on your projects. The location is great as it’s in the city centre and you have shops and nice restaurants where you can meet with your friends when you finish classes. I’m happy here; I was concerned about being an international student but people here are very helpful and caring.
I’m Adriana Salazar Miranda from Colombia. I started studying MSc International Logistics and Supply Chain Management in September 2012. I chose this course because as an Industrial Engineer, one of my areas of interest was logistics and after doing some research on the Internet for something related to logistics I found this course at USW.
I made the decision to study here at USW as it is in the top six UK universities in the field of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and the course is accredited as a level 7 Executive Diploma according to The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics (CILT) and this was very important for me.
I have enjoyed studying here so far because lecturers have a great deal of experience in industry so they provide a real insight into the challenges you can find in the real world and therefore the classes are very helpful to improve your knowledge and develop skills such as working in groups, develop critical discussion and debates. Also, learning from the experiences of colleagues who come from different parts of the world has been very helpful and enriching. Moreover, the university brings students to live this experience with the best resources.
We have nice spaces to socialize, exercise but also to work. One of my best experiences was the welcome week because I met a lot of people that are now my best friends. The interest of the University in its students is amazing and there are always activities to socialize and also services to provide support during your studies, such as workshops, english classes and also to encourage your employability during and after your studies. Overall, my experience has been so cool so far, in despite of the cold and rainy weather!
