Elizabeth Santander Ochoa, a MSc Public Relations graduate from the University of South Wales, has recently landed the role of Head of Communication and Public Affairs at Universidad de las Américas Puebla, Mexico.
Speaking about her new role, Elizabeth explained: “I am in charge of developing communication plans for the presidency of the University as well as media crisis management plans. In addition, I organise press conferences to let the media know about university projects. Being one of the best and most known universities in Mexico, a major responsibility in the department is to look after and maintain the positive image of the institution.”
Sharing her experiences of the University of South Wales, Elizabeth said: “I decided to study the MSc Public Relations course to improve my knowledge and skills, particularly in communication. The course provided me with the required tools and confidence to face issues in my current job and to be able to develop accurate solutions.
On the course, I had amazing lecturers whom I learned so much; they always had the disposition to help me in so many ways. Studying at the University was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had, not only for the academic part but also for taking recreational classes, and living and sharing with students from different countries and cultures. It was completely enriching, and has led to me being much more open minded. I made special friends that became more like family; studying at the University has given me memories that will remain forever.”
