Students on the University’s BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA (Hons) Forensic Accounting course, have recently achieved the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) accredited Sage certificate - the first cohort at the University of South Wales to attain this as part of their degree.
Sage is a global company, working with 6.2 million businesses across the world.
Speaking about gaining the CIMA accredited Sage certificate Sarah Liddell, BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance student, said: “Completing the CIMA accredited Sage certificate has given me experience in using an accounting programme commonly used in industry and has also provided me with an insight into how accounting principles are applied within the software. Having the knowledge of how Sage operates will prove an advantage following graduation as it is an additional practical skill that can be transferred to the workplace.”
Congratulating the students Karen Jones, Head of the School of Law, Accounting and Finance said: “Congratulations to all students studying BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance and BA (Hons) Forensic Accounting, who achieved their CIMA accredited Sage certificate. This is the first cohort from the University to undertake this qualification, which has proved to be both challenging and rewarding.”
