Law department hosts guest lecture on Four West Wales Murders

Guest Lecture - Four West Wales Murders 2015

The University of South Wales’ law department recently hosted a guest lecture titled ‘Four West Wales Murders; Thirty Year wait for Justice’ at the University’s Pontypridd Campus. Amongst those in attendance were law, criminology and policing staff and students.

The guest lecture was delivered by Gerald Elias QC and Steve Wilkins (retired Detective Chief Superintendent) with Assistance from Jonathan Hill (Presenter of ITV Wales News at Six) and Glyn Johnson (retired Detective Inspector). Following the lecture Jonathan Hill chaired a Q&A session.

The lecture on the Pembrokeshire double murders provided an insight into the investigation of the brutal murders of husband and wife Peter and Gwenda Dixon; as they walked on the Pembrokeshire coastal path in the summer of 1989.  It also looked into the double killing of siblings Richard and Helen Thomas at their remote farmhouse four years earlier.

This guest lecture is one of a series organised annually by staff within the law department.
