Drama students stage live performance in refurbished cemetery

Students studying BA (Hons) Drama gave a live performance on March 9th as part of a specialist elective module on Elizabethan-Jacobean Drama.

The hour performance took place at Cathays Cemetery. Students developed an exciting showcase of Shakespeare scenes using the extraordinary environment of the cemetery and the mortuary chapels, which, after a recent lottery funded refurbishment, are being used for performance for the first time.

Photography student, Lorna Cabble, collaborated on the project and lent her expertise to capture the performance.

It also represents the latest phase in a fruitful CELT-funded project into drama teaching, which has seen USW performance work in the public sphere following a liaison and development process with Cardiff Council.
