The excellence of professional Accountancy tuition at the University of South Wales - and the calibre of its students - has again been recognised.
The University of South Wales has successfully been shortlisted under two categories at the PQ Magazine Awards 2015. The prestigious annual PQ Awards recognise the best institutions, teachers, materials, students and learning platforms in the accountancy market.
USW has been shortlisted for the ‘Public Sector Accountancy College of the Year’ award for the sixth consecutive year, an award which the University won twice in 2010 and 2012.
In addition, student Rebecca Wright has been shortlisted in the ‘PQ of the Year’ category. Rebecca successfully completed the ACCA course at City Campus, Newport in 2014, winning the Tutors' Prize at the September 2014 graduation ceremony. Rebecca currently works for the accounting firm Mitchell Meredith and has returned to Newport City campus to study the Advanced, Final stage of the ICAEW ACA Qualification, in a bid to become dual qualified under two professional bodies.
Dr. Jared Davies, Academic Manager (Accounting & Finance) said, “This is a fantastic achievement for the University that demonstrates the quality of the accountancy courses available and also recognises the hard work and talent of our students. We have been shortlisted at these Awards for six years in a row, and we are the only institution to have won the Public Sector College of the Year award twice (in 2010 and 2012).”
Each shortlist, selected from national entries, contains five names. The 2015 award PQ Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of 10th February at Cafe de Paris in London.Find out more about studying Accounting at the University of South Wales.
