Music graduates' gig at Glastonbury

Two music graduates from the University of South Wales played at this year’s Glastonbury festival.

Andrew Brown and Charlie Piercey, who studied BA (Hons) Popular Music, form part of the Cardiff-based band Afrocluster.

Changes to the line-up in 2015 refined the focus and determination of the band to establish themselves at the forefront of the UK hip hop scene. Fellow USW Alumni Georgia Thomas now manages the band and has played a huge part in the band's success.

Afro Cluster are now one of BBC Horizon's 12 acts for 2016/2017 (a collaboration between BBC Wales & the Arts Council of Wales).

The band have recently been building momentum, gaining recognition from BBC Radio Wales’ Bethan Elfyn and Adam Walton, and BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson and Craig Charles. They were also part of Adam Walton’s ‘Best of 2015’ playlist.
